Good Jamin Times at Lolla ...yes

First off I just got to say that after my hiking vacation in Whistler, Canada...Lollapolooza was a great continuation of keeping on the big wave of fun. I made sure to wear cute, breathable yet fashionable outfits everyday. The first day me and my gal palz got a picture with Teen Vogue. That was pretty sweet. Crowd surfing at Matt and Kim was definitely one of my biggest highlights. Oh and seeing Frightened Rabbit on a dudes shoulders up front was sweet too. MGMT and Phoenix were amazing too. Gaga um not so much...very disappointing. Her outfits were pretty interesting though. More bands I saw were Chromeo, Cypress Hill, Cut Copy, Slightly Stoopid(amazing), Arcade Fire, Yeasayer, Spoon, Grizzly Bear, The XX(wooo), Blitzen Trapper, Minus the Bear, Dragonette, Chiddy Bang, Wavves, Stars, and my love Rogue Wave. More at Perrys too because its always a dance party there too. I wish I Hockey, The Dodos and The National ...uber sad. Fun times at Lolla. I got every penny out of my three day pass. Loving the world right now well other than getting my wisdom teeth out early this morning haha. I look so silly. Alright more updates will be coming later.

A Different Use for Gloves

In this garment I used my grandmothers and my great-grandmothers gloves and lace. The vintage textures inspired me to make something classic and couture.

Concentration Piece One

For my first piece I wanted to focus on depth and translate my feeling of fear in drawing. In this picture elements of my bedroom are included as well as inspiration from nightmares and other related dreams. I can't wait to start the next piece!

A Taste of Fashion Sense

(Pictures 1 & 2: Valentino, 3: Balmain, and 3: Versace)

Neutrals and romantic vintage have clearly been the trend for the year. For Spring-Summer 2010 in Paris fashion week I feel Valentino was the best representation of this trend with the most class and sophistication. Vanlentino's soft reoccurring ruffles in their silk garment really make the garments one unique and well-put-together collection. On the more edgy side, Balmain's collection had a more tough girl confident look. Christophe Decarnin knows how to make the women in the garments feel sumptuous, flattering and desirable. When looking at this collection as a whole the military, gladiator look comes to mind with strong shoulders brought out with fringe appliques. On the more fun side Versace in Milan fashion week went against the grain. Donetella Versace created a lively fun spirited collection full of dress and skirts. On many of the garments geometric patterns make the collection uniform along with the color pallet. These outfits are ideal for the spring-summer season due to their wear ability, trendiness and girlie girl taste. Each piece is unique and inspiring in this collection. Donetella Versace was inspired by Alice in Wonderland in this collection; no wonder why it's so fun. She proved her knowledge again about the ins and outs of making a sleek and sexy gowns. Keeping the trade mark of Versace, the gowns have cuts and geometric lines so automatically one knows what designer made that dress. Ultimately, these three collections is what I will be looking to for inspiration for my upcoming outfits for spring and summer.
