Neutrals and romantic vintage have clearly been the trend for the year. For Spring-Summer 2010 in Paris fashion week I feel Valentino was the best representation of this trend with the most class and sophistication. Vanlentino's soft reoccurring ruffles in their silk garment really make the garments one unique and well-put-together collection. On the more edgy side, Balmain's collection had a more tough girl confident look. Christophe Decarnin knows how to make the women in the garments feel sumptuous, flattering and desirable. When looking at this collection as a whole the military, gladiator look comes to mind with strong shoulders brought out with fringe appliques. On the more fun side Versace in Milan fashion week went against the grain. Donetella Versace created a lively fun spirited collection full of dress and skirts. On many of the garments geometric patterns make the collection uniform along with the color pallet. These outfits are ideal for the spring-summer season due to their wear ability, trendiness and girlie girl taste. Each piece is unique and inspiring in this collection. Donetella Versace was inspired by Alice in Wonderland in this collection; no wonder why it's so fun. She proved her knowledge again about the ins and outs of making a sleek and sexy gowns. Keeping the trade mark of Versace, the gowns have cuts and geometric lines so automatically one knows what designer made that dress. Ultimately, these three collections is what I will be looking to for inspiration for my upcoming outfits for spring and summer.
alice in wonderland + versace....yes!!!
